What If? Saturday Morning Twittering with Saint Peter

what if saint peter
measures souls in syllables?
(fewer the better)

what if the stairway
has a step for each promise
broken selfishly?

what if – oh! what if! –
fame and fortune can be yours
with just one more tweet?

each time I cut string
I worry that all of space
will soon unravel

back to saint peter
what if your worth is measured
by number of likes?

our lives are too brief
to waste precious time with tweets!
now, where’s the remote?

  1. Ha, ha! Brilliant, as usual. Sweet irony. Love the poem.

  2. LOL! oh brilliant! I love your poetry – it’s so direct and entertaining at the same time!

On the one hand I’m a scientist and like to be concise and direct, and on the other hand I’m a musician and author and I like to entertain. I love playing with words, and I have a perverse sense of humour. Sometimes it works… 🙂
