Kara to Kal

“For four long years I wore that chain
of suffocating kryptonite
you can’t conceive the moral pain
of witnessing again again
the evils I might fight.

“The lesson you have taught so well
is simply: Never trust a man!
your words of wisdom cast a spell
your good intentions led to Hell –
a cursed and foolish plan.

“What have I learned in suffering so?
that heroes can be villains too!
the demarcation friend from foe’s
a fuzzy line that none can know
unless their heart beats true.”
