soaking up the bitter lemon

Winter & Christmas

a few syllables
to mark end and beginning…
Happy New Year all!

sky black and star-bright
woods thick with fine-traced shadows
haunt the icy moon

Christmas is coming…
tell me, goose, why settle for
orthodox pleasures?

a reverent kiss
between the burning yule logs
O sweet mistletoe

Various

all in a flutter
a calculated dance about
the beauties they guard

material girl…
in silk bound and leather dressed
she lies on cotton

O villainous girl
dancing to another’s will
we see but don’t see

like moth to a flame
Icarus embraced the light
and fell into dark

a crimson tear falls
bitter with life and love lost
sweet with promises

thunder is silence
nature’s fury darks her eyes
my heart deafening

the teasing of blood!
even the palest of necks
is a treasure map

What do dolls dream of?
Leaping from a tall tower…
with no strings attached.

between earth and stars
no one soars higher than I
none escape below

childhood adventure
from Mars to the Milky Way…
the chocolate sky

we create the sky:
dark matter! dark energy!
blind desperation…

the axe plays a tune
tap-tapping without mercy
on my fragile skull

sweet little dentist…
the face of laughing danger
yawns in gratitude

the thread that binds us
is fit for an emperor…
but how sharp it cuts!

O swift tornadO
whip me up A desert djinn
and Vex the deVil…

Errant Thoughts

beauty lures the hunting beast

sponge soaking up the bitter lemon

the winter maid lays fresh sheets

an errant thought pressed between leaves

its secret fire revealed to the mirror

absolute zero still they dance

fallen but undefeated the cone pines

winter stars shattering the brittle night

Musicians

Richter burns my soul
perfection in black and white:
Appassionata!

tears fall in silence
the chaste goddess sings callas
and the gods applaud

A Lonely F/F Tea Party

with spring comes the flood
the waking sun licks the peaks
banishing the ice

she sets fire to ice!
swirls of steam reveal conceal
the furnace within

the blind traveller
follows a trail of jasmine
to the water’s edge

a dragon sleeps here…
let none without passion dare
this dark continent

the cauldron simmers
feel its power on your lips –
elixir of love

no impassioned words
or gifts of exotic silk
can surpass a kiss

to be a spider
and make love to you with silk…
fatal attraction

eight limbs entangled
when one comes the other goes
waveforms collapsing

stripped of all but script –
her pale flesh clothed in a web
of inked sorcery

three witches bathing:
flames lick the steaming cauldron
potent with passion

    P.S. My favorites:

    a crimson tear falls
bitter with life and love lost
    sweet with promises

    thunder is silence
    nature’s fury darks her eyes
    my heart deafening

    between earth and stars
no one soars higher than I
    none escape below

    • Frank says:

thunder is silence is a favourite of mine too.
Thanks for reading – I have to confess I’ve been so busy the past two months I’ve rarely had the chance to check out other blogs.
