So loud the hero screamed!

Here’s an interesting poetic form – a terzanelle in iambic pentamater…

Once more the dominatrix cracked her whips
The leather tails imbued with kryptonite
She kissed her lover’s perfect pouting lips

‘Tonight, my love,’ she whispered, ‘Yes, tonight!’
She laughed, while through her cruel fingers slipped
The leather tails imbued with kryptonite

The Son of Krypton dangled bound and stripped
‘He’ll pay,’ cried Mistress X, ‘for all he’s said’
She laughed, while through her cruel fingers slipped

The bitter chain that held him overhead
He begged forgiveness, begged to be released
‘He’ll pay,’ cried Mistress X, ‘for all he’s said’

And merciless she whipped him like a beast
So loud the hero screamed! And kneeling thus
He begged forgiveness, begged to be released

The night found Kara bound beneath a truss
Once more the dominatrix cracked her whips
So loud the hero screamed! And kneeling thus
She kissed her lover’s perfect pouting lips

I like the ‘two-way’ (pun intended) meaning of the title here – is it the crack of the whip or the hero’s scream that is loud (or indeed, both)? Wonderfully subversive use of the terzanelle form as well.
