Beauty in Chains

For Supergirl I stole this stone
For love! – rewarded by her rage!
And for my crime I must atone
Or spend forever all alone
Caught in this sparkling cage

Diamond walls this prison make
I’m trapped by shimmering bars of light
I did it all for true love’s sake
But soon I will my vengeance take…
Dark is a moonless night

I will escape these crystal planes
I’ve planned my lover’s Earthly doom
I’ll prove that brawn is less than brains
I’ll bind that beauty in my chains
Deep in a sunless tomb

Rhythm & rhyme inspired by the opening lines of Coleridge’s Kubla Khan.
