Supergirl at home

Supergirl is swift and strong
She spends her mornings righting wrong
Till school is out and kids come home
(She daren’t leave them on their own)
She’d rather be out fighting crime
Than stuck at home (and ‘doing time’)

To be a single mother’s tough
She wishes she could scream, ‘Enough!’
Could leave the kids with someone kind
Could have a drink! Relax! Unwind!
But she’s a hero, holds it in
And takes life’s punches on the chin
