Separation hurts

Separation hurts

The distance between us is elastic –
tight with the memory of her,

the heady aroma that is her
infusing me as my lips trace
sonnets across the canvas of her skin

I am empty without her warmth
cold without her laughter
broken without her in my hands

I exist without her;
with her I live…

I count the minutes.

    This is painfully beautiful piece, Frank! I felt each line. Well done!
